About this scheme

GENESIS EIR Cohort-3 is an Entrepreneur-in-Residence programme implemented by MeitY Startup Hub (MSH) for early-stage innovators developing technology-based solutions.

The programme supports entrepreneurs, innovators, researchers, students and founders or co-founders of early-stage startups working in areas including Electronics, IT, ICT, DeepTech, AI/ML, IoT, Semiconductor/VLSI, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, Quantum Technologies, AR/VR, Spatial & Immersive Technologies and related emerging technology sectors.

Eligible innovations should generally be at TRL 2–4, covering ideation, proof of concept, prototype, MVP or early validation stages. Selected applicants receive incubation, mentorship, ecosystem access and networking opportunities, along with financial assistance through participating MSH empanelled GENESIS incubators.

Applicants are required to select a Preference 1 and Preference 2 from the list of MSH empanelled GENESIS incubators. Final incubator allocation depends on applicant preference, domain fit, incubator capacity and evaluation outcomes.

Who can apply

• Applicant must be an Indian citizen.
• Applicants may be entrepreneurs, innovators, researchers, students or founders/co-founders of early-stage startups.
• Proposed innovation should be in Electronics, IT, ICT, DeepTech or related emerging technologies.
• Innovation should generally be at TRL 2–4.
• Startup should preferably be based in a Tier-II or Tier-III city.
• If incorporated, the startup should be less than two years old as of the application date.
• Applicant must select Preference 1 and Preference 2 from the MSH empanelled GENESIS incubators.

How the application process works

The journey below is informational, compiled from the official program guidelines. Applications are submitted directly with Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in your own name.

   Complete the GENESIS EIR Cohort-3 application.

   Provide details of the applicant and proposed innovation/startup.

   Select Preference 1 from the MSH empanelled GENESIS incubators.

   Select Preference 2 from the MSH empanelled GENESIS incubators.

   Submit the application before 31 August 2026, 11:59:59 PM.

   Applications are evaluated by the designated Screening and Evaluation Committee.

   Selected applicants are allocated to an incubator based on preference, domain fit, incubator capacity and evaluation outcomes.
