General versus Special Power of Attorney
A General Power of Attorney gives the attorney broad authority to act for the principal across the matters described in the deed. A Special, or limited, Power of Attorney restricts the authority to one or more specific acts. As a rule, grant only the powers you actually intend to give and describe them precisely, because the attorney can bind the principal within the scope of the deed.
