Hello, and thanks for taking the time to read about Content Writer. Here is everything you need to know about the role, in one place.
About the role
Most content about Indian company law and taxation is either copied from the last person who copied it, or written by someone who has never read the underlying rule. Our readers are founders and business owners trying to register a company, file a return, or keep a license valid. They notice the difference immediately.
You will write blogs, guides, service pages, landing pages, and FAQs that explain regulatory subjects clearly and accurately. That means reading the actual source, whether that is an MCA notification, a GST circular, or a section of the Income Tax Act, and then explaining it in language a first-time founder can act on. Getting a fee, a deadline, or a penalty amount wrong here is a real problem, so accuracy is part of the craft, not a checkbox at the end.
You will work from SEO briefs and alongside the SEO team, so you will learn how search intent, structure, and internal linking shape what gets read. You will also write conversion copy for landing pages and campaigns, which is a different muscle and worth developing.
We use AI tools for research, outlines, and first-pass editing, and we are open about that. What we will not publish is unverified AI output. The judgment about what is true, what matters, and what a reader actually needs stays with you. If that split sounds right to you, we will get along.
Responsibilities
Day to day, here’s what you’ll own:
- Research and write blogs, guides, service pages, landing pages, and FAQs on business, compliance, and taxation topics.
- Read primary sources, government notifications, and Acts directly, and verify every fee, deadline, rate, and penalty you publish.
- Turn regulatory language into something a first-time founder can follow and act on.
- Work from SEO briefs covering target keywords, search intent, and structure, and write to them without writing for robots.
- Write headlines, introductions, meta descriptions, and calls to action that earn the click and honor it.
- Write conversion copy for landing pages, ads, email, and WhatsApp campaigns.
- Update existing articles when the law, a rate, or a deadline changes, and when search performance says a piece is underperforming.
- Brief designers on the visuals and infographics a piece needs.
- Proofread and fact-check your own work before it goes anywhere near review.
- Keep to the house voice, terminology, and editorial standards across every format.
- Use AI tools for research and drafting support while keeping the editorial judgment and verification yours.
What we’re looking for
The right candidate brings most of the following:
- 1 to 3 years writing professionally for the web. Portfolio required.
- Excellent written English: clean grammar, tight sentences, and no padding.
- Strong research skills and the patience to read a primary source rather than a competitor blog.
- Ability to explain a complicated rule simply without making it inaccurate.
- Working understanding of SEO basics: search intent, headings, keyword usage, internal linking.
- Real attention to detail. In this subject a wrong number costs a reader money.
- Able to take editorial feedback and use it.
- Reliable with deadlines across parallel assignments.
Nice to have
Not required, but a plus:
- Writing experience in business, finance, legal, compliance, taxation, or professional services.
- Familiarity with Ahrefs, Semrush, or Google Search Console.
- Experience writing landing pages and service pages that convert.
- Ad and campaign copywriting.
- GA4 and content performance analysis.
- WordPress or another content management system, plus basic HTML.
- Experience building content clusters and topical authority.
- Considered, disciplined use of AI-assisted research and editing workflows.
