About Toilet Board Coalition
The Toilet Board Coalition (TBC) is a business-led non-profit founded in 2015 and headquartered in Geneva. It brings multinational corporations, government agencies, and sanitation entrepreneurs together to grow the Sanitation Economy, a market-based way to address the global sanitation crisis, working from the premise that sanitation challenges are not only public-health problems but also business opportunities in waste-to-value products, water treatment, hygiene technology, and clean energy from waste, with corporate members providing market access, mentorship, and strategic guidance.
By focusing on a sector most accelerators overlook, TBC fills a distinctive gap. Its accelerator programmes have graduated more than 111 small and medium enterprises from across Asia, Africa, and Latin America, with a strong India presence, connecting sanitation entrepreneurs to corporate partners that offer distribution, technical expertise, and procurement. Its Accelerator for Sanitation Enterprises helps early ventures refine business models, build go-to-market strategies, and prepare for investment, and the coalition also publishes Sanitation Economy research and hosts the annual Sanitation Economy Summit.
