It carries two complementary mandates: strengthening Taiwan's own startup ecosystem by building local accelerator capacity and validating frontier ventures, and drawing international startups into Taiwan to plug them into the island's deep hardware, semiconductor, and manufacturing supply chains. Its focus falls on hard-tech sectors where Taiwan holds structural advantages, including AIoT (AI plus IoT), smart healthcare and MedTech, green technology and cleantech, SpaceTech and satellite systems, and advanced manufacturing and semiconductors. Its marquee international cohort, the SpaceTech Startup Supporting Programme, is open to global, including Indian, SpaceTech startups across satellite manufacturing, ground-station technology, launch services, downstream space data, and components, and selected teams get a one-month immersion in Taiwan with visits to satellite makers, IC fabs, and component suppliers, introductions to the space-industry consortium, co-development and pilot opportunities, and access to follow-on grants. The programme is fully subsidised by the ministry, takes no equity, and covers most cohort costs.
