About PIEDS
PIEDS, the Pilani Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Society, is a technology business incubator on the BITS Pilani campus in Rajasthan. Founded in 2013, it draws on BITS Pilani's strong engineering and science programmes to support deep-tech and technology-driven startups, and it has received backing from the Department of Science and Technology and NITI Aayog's Atal Innovation Mission.
As the institute's main incubation and entrepreneurship arm, PIEDS gives early startups workspace, technical mentoring, access to BITS Pilani's laboratories and research facilities, and connections to funding, bridging academic research and commercial startup development. Its structured programmes include co-working space, dedicated labs, mentoring from faculty and industry experts, and access to seed funding through government grants and the incubator's own corpus, across technology, healthcare, education, IoT, semiconductors, and renewable energy, with particular focus on IoT, AI, semiconductor design, and analytics. Its alumni include Kalam Labs, Valerio Electric, Niroggyan, Adneu, and Nawgati, spanning education technology, electric vehicles, health diagnostics, and mobility.
BITS Pilani students, alumni, and external technology founders who want to commercialise innovations in hardware, IoT, semiconductors, healthcare, and clean energy benefit most, especially ideation- and validation-stage teams that need lab infrastructure, technical mentoring, and a peer community of engineering-minded founders.
