About JSW MG Motor India
JSW MG Motor India is a joint venture between the JSW Group and SAIC Motor Corporation, operating as the Indian arm of the Morris Garages brand. Headquartered in Gurugram, it makes and sells passenger vehicles, including electric models, and since entering the Indian market in 2019 it has positioned itself as an innovation-forward automaker keen to fold startup-driven technology into its vehicles and operations.
It runs one of the few corporate startup programmes in the Indian automotive sector. Through the MG Developer Program and Grant (MGDP), the company scouts startups building in mobility, connected vehicles, EV infrastructure, and urban transport, and selected teams receive mentoring, grant funding, and the chance to pilot their solutions with MG's vehicles and customers. The MGDP accepts applications across automotive technology, EV charging, connected services, V2X intelligence, and urban mobility, pairing mentoring from MG's leadership and technical teams with grants and integration opportunities into MG vehicles or dealership networks, while periodic MG Innovation Challenges target themes such as AR/VR showroom experiences, AI-driven customer engagement, and supply-chain optimisation.
