About The Habitats Trust
The Habitats Trust is a wildlife conservation foundation co-founded in 2018 by Roshni Nadar Malhotra. The organisation recognises and supports conservation groups and individuals working to protect India's natural habitats and native species, with a focus on lesser-known species and neglected ecosystems. Since inception, the THT Grants programme has supported more than 38 projects across 21 states and union territories, disbursing over 16.2 crore rupees. Grant categories include the THT Conservation Grant for organisations addressing conservation challenges with holistic project designs, and the THT Research Grant for interdisciplinary research that informs on-ground conservation strategies. The current grants programme has a total outlay of 3.5 crore rupees per cycle and focuses on projects that address biodiversity loss, climate change, and water scarcity through innovative, replicable approaches.
