Soma is a deep-tech accelerator and SaaS platform in India, operating within the broader India Accelerator ecosystem. It was built to fill a specific gap, the shortage of structured support for startups rooted in scientific research and engineering innovation, by bringing government agencies, industrial partners, academic institutions, and venture capital into one integrated support system for deep-tech founders.
Its hybrid model pairs a digital platform with hands-on acceleration: the SaaS side connects deep-tech startups to relevant resources, partners, and funding, while the accelerator side delivers structured, milestone-based mentoring, and the platform has partnered the MeitY Startup Hub to support technology-driven startups. The Soma Deep Tech Accelerator carries startups from concept validation through to scaling, with mentoring from domain experts, access to prototyping and testing infrastructure via academic and industry partners, and introductions to science-focused investors; a MeitY partnership programme adds government-backed grants, mentoring, and market access; and its platform services provide tools for startup management, milestone tracking, and ecosystem mapping.
