Karnataka Biotechnology and Information Technology Services (KBITS) is a facilitation body under the Department of Electronics, IT, Biotechnology, and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka. Originally established as Karnataka Information Technology Services, it was renamed to KBITS through a government order in 2001 to reflect its expanded mandate covering both IT and biotechnology sectors. KBITS operates from the M.S. Buildings in Bangalore and serves as the operational arm for promoting IT, biotech, and startup activity in the state.

KBITS houses the Karnataka Startup Cell, which was launched in 2016 as a one-stop shop for startups seeking information, assistance, and access to government schemes. Karnataka is home to over 4,000 registered startups, making it one of India's largest startup ecosystems.
