Infineon Co-Innovation Program (COINS)
by Infineon Technologies
Global co-innovation program for hardware, semiconductor, and embedded software startups.
Infineon Technologies is a global semiconductor company headquartered in Neubiberg, Germany, formed in 1999 as a spin-off from Siemens. It designs and makes semiconductors and system solutions for automotive, industrial, and IoT applications, and with major R&D operations in Bengaluru it has built a substantial presence in India and engages actively with the startup ecosystem.
Its distinctive contribution is bridging hardware-focused deep-tech startups and global semiconductor supply chains. Through its startup-cooperation programme, inno.wafer, it offers mentoring, access to advanced semiconductor technologies, and co-development opportunities, and it has partnered NITI Aayog, Startup India, DPIIT, and MeitY to strengthen India's semiconductor and deep-tech pipeline. MoUs with DPIIT open its chip technologies, mentoring, and global networks to startups through design-driven challenges, and it has worked with incubators including the Foundation for Science Innovation and Development at IISc, the IIT Madras Incubation Cell, and ARTPARK, while running an AI Challenge with Startup India and AGNIi, a solar pump motor-drive challenge, and a 2025 tie-up with NIELIT to build semiconductor talent.
The co-innovation model has produced concrete results: e-Drift Electric builds energy-efficient EV charging on Infineon's Si-SiC-MOSFET technology, EYDelta designs AI-driven electric motors for e-mobility, drones, and aerospace using Infineon controllers, and Mimyik builds smart-health solutions on Infineon's sensor platforms. Hardware and deep-tech startups in automotive electronics, IoT, power semiconductors, EV charging, smart sensors, and industrial automation benefit most, particularly validation- and early-revenue-stage teams whose products run on or work with Infineon's platforms. It is online at infineon.com.
