The IIITB Innovation Centre opened in 2009 inside the IIIT Bangalore campus at Electronic City, dedicated to ICT4D research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. It carries MeitY recognition as a TIDE 2.0 G2 Centre and Karnataka government approval as an incubation facility, and it has deployed TIDE grants as pre-seed and seed money into startups spanning healthcare, education, agriculture, financial inclusion, and e-governance.
Its programme stack covers two main tracks: Orbit, which takes deep-tech startups from proof of concept through to market, and IMACX, a 100-day early-stage accelerator that charges no fee and takes no equity. More than 30 startups have come through IMACX, and the centre has nurtured ventures in social innovation, digital payments, and data analytics, while also running an RBI Innovation Hub pre-incubation programme for fintech; Fields of View, Ziroh Labs, Videoken, and GreendZine number among its alumni.
