About C-DAC
The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) is an autonomous scientific society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. Established in 1988 in response to technology denial regimes, C-DAC was originally created to develop India's indigenous supercomputing capabilities under the leadership of Dr. Vijay Bhatkar.
Today, C-DAC is India's premier R&D organization for IT, electronics, and associated areas, with a presence across 11 cities. The organization has developed notable technologies including VEGA Microprocessors (India's first indigenous 64-bit RISC-V processor), AI-enabled solutions, healthcare systems, and quantum computing tools. C-DAC also runs the Advanced Computing Training School (ACTS), offering diploma programs in advanced computing and software development across India.
