About Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP)
C-CAMP, the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms, is a Department of Biotechnology initiative founded in 2010 in Bangalore and one of India's busier life-sciences innovation hubs and biotech incubators. It has supported over 350 startups drawn from all 34 states and union territories, invested up to Rs. 80 crore in its portfolio, and helped those companies raise more than Rs. 2,000 crore. Sitting next to the NCBS-TIFR campus, it pairs business incubation with access to serious research infrastructure.
That blend of deep scientific facilities and startup support is its hallmark. Its location near NCBS-TIFR and its K-TECH TBI facility at the GKVK campus give startups advanced research equipment, biocontainment labs, and a community of leading life-sciences researchers, which matters most for biotech teams that need lab access during early R&D, something general-purpose incubators cannot provide. Its programmes include the C-CAMP bio-incubator with lab and office space and shared equipment, the K-TECH TBI on Bellary Road, technology platforms offering fee-for-service access to next-generation sequencers, mass spectrometers, and imaging systems, and innovation challenges with partners such as the Gates Foundation.
The portfolio features Strand Life Sciences in genomics and precision medicine, Dozee in contactless health monitoring, Qure.ai in AI radiology, Achira Labs in point-of-care diagnostics, and Terrablue XT in sustainable materials, with five exits recorded so far, including one IPO and four acquisitions, among them Predible Health's acquisition by nference in May 2022.
