About this scheme
The NIDHI Seed Support Program (SSP) is a flagship initiative by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), providing financial assistance to promising early-stage tech startups to transition from prototype to commercialization (lab to market).
Implemented at ACIC-VGU Foundation, the program offers seed funding support of up to Rs. 50 Lakhs through a flexible structure of Equity or Equity-linked instruments (with a minority equity stake taken by the incubator).
Key benefits include:
Funding for PoC, prototype development, product trials, customer validation, and launch.
Milestone-based disbursement and a moratorium of up to 12 months (in case of loan-based support, although the mode of funding is listed as Equity/Equity-linked).
Expert mentorship, investor connect, and GTM support via the ACIC VGU Foundation ecosystem.
Who can apply
- Registration: Must be legally registered in India (preferably DPIIT-recognized or willing to apply).
- Ownership: At least 51% equity must be held by Indian promoters.
- Association: Requires a minimum 3 months association (physical or virtual incubation) with ACIC VGU Foundation, or willingness to onboard.
- Product Stage: Must have an innovative/technology-driven solution with a working prototype or MVP and a clear Unique Selling Proposition (USP) validated by customers.
- Funding History: Preference is given to startups that haven't previously received seed funding from any Central/State Government schemes.
- Compliance: Cannot be a subsidiary of an MNC or foreign company.
- Focus Sectors: AgriTech, HealthTech & MedTech, CleanTech & Sustainability, DeepTech / AI / ML, SaaS / Digital Platforms, IoT, Industry 4.0, SpaceTech, Mobility, Drones, and more.
