The MeitY GENESIS EiR Program is a key initiative by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to empower aspiring entrepreneurs in Tier II and III cities. Hosted by the Manipal Universal Technology Business Incubator (MUTBI), the program offers a crucial grant of up to Rs. 10 Lakhs for prototype development, ensuring that promising tech ideas can be brought to life.
The grant targets innovators working on deep-tech solutions in sectors like Electronic Design & Manufacturing, Deeptech Software, and ICT, with specific relevance to emerging technologies like AI/ML, IoT, Blockchain, and AR/VR. The program is a direct pipeline for students and early-stage founders to receive financial support, mentorship, and a structured ecosystem to validate their ideas.
Who can apply
- Must be an Indian citizen and a first-generation entrepreneur.
- Applicants must be full-time UG/PG students with entrepreneurial pursuits OR founders/co-founders of DPIIT-registered startups (<= 2 years old).
- Only applicants from Tier II & III cities are eligible.
- Innovation must be at the Ideation, Concept Development, Validation (PoC), or Prototyping stage.
- Must be working on innovations in Electronic design and manufacturing, Deeptech software/product, or the ICT space (including AI/ML, IoT, Blockchain, etc.).
- EiR support will be extended only once under GENESIS. Must not have received significant external funding exceeding Rs. 10 Lakhs (including government grants).
