About this scheme
The MeitY GENESIS Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) Grant Program, supported by MeitY Startup Hub, is implemented by iHub - AWaDH @ IIT Ropar. This initiative is part of the national GENESIS scheme with a focus on empowering innovators from Tier-II and Tier-III cities.
The program is designed to catalyze innovation and entrepreneurship by:
* Providing Funding Assistance of up to Rs. 10 Lakhs to develop, validate, and scale innovative ideas.
* Offering dedicated incubation support, access to co-working spaces, and cutting-edge lab infrastructure (especially in Agriculture and Water Technology).
* Providing focused mentoring, investor connect, and national visibility.
Who can apply
- Must be a DPIIT-registered startup (or innovator transitioning to a startup).
- Must be registered in a Tier-II or Tier-III city.
- Must be in the ideation, validation, or very early stages of its lifecycle.
- Should be working in ICT-related domains: AI, Electronic Design & Manufacturing, Deeptech Software & Product, IoT, or VLSI/Semiconductor.
- Must have an MVP/working prototype, a viable business plan, and a full-time founder/co-founder.
- Must not have received significant external funding (exceeding Rs. 10 lakh), including government grants.
- Cannot be a startup previously supported under the TIDE 2.0 (Scale Up) or SAMRIDH schemes.
- Special priority is given to startups led by women entrepreneurs or marginalized groups.
