About this scheme

The MANAGE FISHub Incubation Programme 2026 (Cohort II) is a nationwide effort to back fisheries startups, aquapreneurs, and innovators whose solutions serve the country's fisheries and aquaculture sector. It is organised by the MANAGE Fisheries Innovation and Startup Hub (MANAGE, FISHub), backed by the Union Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, and hosted at the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE) in Hyderabad. The aim is to turn promising fisheries and aquaculture ideas into ventures that can scale, through structured mentoring, training for entrepreneurs, and exposure to genuine industry problems.

Over a one-month engagement of mentoring and incubation, those taking part work hands-on with established fisheries startups while picking up business models, the workings of aquaculture value chains, and where the market opportunities lie. Each selected participant receives over 60 hours of mentoring, hands-on technical guidance, and direct exposure to fisheries innovation ecosystems, plus business and technical coaching, networking, incubation workshops, and the chance to consult sector experts. Strong startups coming out of the programme may be put forward for mentoring and possible grant-in-aid under the RKVY-RAFTAAR scheme, where they qualify.

Who can apply

• Open across India to fisheries startups, aspiring aquapreneurs, innovators, rural youth, and students.
• The applicant must put forward an inventive idea or solution in fisheries or aquaculture.
• The idea can involve technology, processes, services, or business platforms that lift efficiency, sustainability, or profitability in the sector.
• A clear initial business plan or proposal is needed, setting out the innovation, its scalability, and the impact expected.
• Participants should show they are committed to taking up entrepreneurship full-time in fisheries or aquaculture.
• Solutions may cover areas like aquaculture inputs, fisheries logistics and cold chain, waste-to-wealth ideas, advisory services, biotechnology, mechanisation, or digital tools such as AI, IoT, or blockchain in fisheries.
