About this scheme
KrishiBoot is an incubation program operated by a-IDEA (Association for Innovation Development of Entrepreneurship in Agriculture), a Technology Business Incubator. a-IDEA is hosted by ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (ICAR-NAARM) in Hyderabad. The program invites individuals with promising ideas or developed prototypes, and early-stage startups, to pitch for incubation. These ventures must be focused on agriculture and various allied sectors.
Since 2014, a-IDEA has successfully nurtured over 300 startups across diverse agricultural domains, including horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries, food processing, and forestry. Participants gain unique access to a vast network of over 6000 eminent agricultural scientists, more than 100 specialized research laboratories, and over 700 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), enhancing technical and market capabilities. An enrollment fee of Rs. 50,000 applies to successful applicants, payable in two installments.
Who can apply
- Individuals with promising ideas or early prototypes addressing challenges in agriculture or allied sectors are eligible, even without a formally registered company at the time of application.
- Early-stage startups with a proof-of-concept or MVP in agriculture, allied sectors, or agri-biotech are eligible to pitch for incubation.
- Startups must be registered within 10 years of incorporation; ventures older than 10 years are not eligible.
- The program covers a broad range of agri domains including horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries, food processing, and forestry, in addition to core crop agriculture.
- An enrollment fee of Rs. 50,000 is payable in two installments upon selection; applicants should factor this into their decision to apply.
- The program runs for 12 months and is hosted at ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad, giving selected incubatees access to laboratory infrastructure, 6000+ agriculture scientists, 100+ research laboratories, and 700+ Krishi Vigyan Kendras across India.
- Startups must be willing to engage actively with the incubation process and make use of mentoring, capacity development, and investor-connect resources provided by a-IDEA.
