About this scheme

The J&K Startup Seed Fund Scheme is an initiative under the J&K Startup Policy implemented by the Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI). The scheme addresses the early-stage funding gap by providing financial assistance to innovative startups during proof of concept, prototype development, product validation, market entry, commercialization, and scaling.

Eligible startups can receive one-time seed funding of up to Rs. 20 lakh, disbursed in four equal installments based on milestone achievements. Applications are evaluated by the Screening Committee and approved by the Startup Task Force Committee in accordance with the Startup Policy Operational Guidelines.

The scheme aims to strengthen the startup ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir by supporting innovation, encouraging entrepreneurship, generating employment, and enabling commercially viable ventures.

Who can apply

• Registered on the J&K Startup Portal and recognized by JKEDI.
• Incorporated as a Private Limited Company, LLP, or Partnership Firm.
• Incorporated within the last 10 years.
• Annual turnover not exceeding ₹100 crore in any preceding financial year.
• Startup must be incorporated and have an office in Jammu & Kashmir.
• Working towards innovation or improvement of products, services, or processes.
• Startup or promoters holding more than 49% stake must not have previously received seed funding from JKEDI.
• Applicant must not be a defaulter with JKEDI.

How the application process works

The journey below is informational, compiled from the official program guidelines. Applications are submitted directly with Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), in your own name.

   Register on the J&K Startup Portal.

   Obtain startup recognition from JKEDI.

   Wait for the Seed Fund application window to open.

   Complete the online application form.

   Upload all required documents.

   Submit the application online.

   Participate in the Screening Committee evaluation if shortlisted.

   Receive approval from the Startup Task Force Committee.
