About this scheme
The Innovate for Impact Challenge is a global competition run by the World Food Prize Foundation in collaboration with America's Cultivation Corridor. Launched at the 2024 Norman E. Borlaug International Dialogue, it targets early-stage agtech startups developing breakthrough technologies that address critical challenges in global food security, agricultural productivity, and sustainable farming.
The top prize winner receives $50,000 (approximately Rs. 45 lakh) to further their impact. Beyond the cash prize, finalists present at a live pitch event at the 2026 Borlaug Dialogue, one of the most recognized gatherings in global agriculture policy and innovation, giving selected startups direct exposure to international funders, agribusiness leaders, and policymakers.
Applications are evaluated across four dimensions: innovation impact (novelty and significance of the technology), market potential (commercial viability and industry demand), sustainability contribution (environmental and social alignment), and scalability and replicability (capacity to grow beyond initial markets). Indian agtech startups working on food security, precision agriculture, post-harvest technology, or climate-resilient crops are well-positioned to compete.
Who can apply
- Early-stage, for-profit agtech startup , from validated concept to pre-Series A stage
- At least one founder must be working full-time on the venture
- Must demonstrate innovation, market potential, sustainability alignment, and scalability
- Open to startups worldwide , no geographic restrictions
- Only for-profit entities are eligible; non-profits and academic institutions do not qualify
